The TNA MP Sivasakthi Anandan who wanted to cross over to Mahinda group said that he will remain independent in the Parliament. It is claimed that due to exposure of ”1 million dollar and ministerial post” offer made by MR-Maithiri to to opposition MP’s in the press TNA MP Anandan who wanted to cross over to Mahinda group had been asked by Mahinda to stay in TNA and NOT vote in favour of Ranil.
Mahinda’s supporter Karuna who is accused of war crime had made statements asking for TNA to support Mahinda or at least stay away from voting in support of Ranil so that Mahinda will gain majority.
TNA MP Sivasakthi Anandan is believed working close to Karuna and working against TNA, He will be very unpopular among the Tamils if he voted for Mahinda so he is Not going to vote for Ranil, after all Money is more powerful than policy to some politicians in Sri Lanka.
He added that he cannot agree with the statement made by Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R. Sampanthan that the appointment of Mahinda Rajapaksa to the post of Prime Minister, replacing Ranil Wickremesinghe, is unconstitutional. MP Anandan, expressing his views to Mawbima, said TNA leader Sampanthan’s claim that replacing Ranil Wickremesinghe with Mahinda Rajapaksa, as the Prime Minister, is unconstitutional, is unacceptable.
Sampanthan who could not even use the controversial situation to resolve the issues of the Tamil people, is in a dire predicament . Even his claim that the decision of the President is unconstitutional is not going to bring any benefit to the Tamil people, Anandan pointed out.
Anandan’s stance will detrimentally affect Ranil Wickremesinghe, who has kept faith in the TNA MPs voting for him in the Parliament.
