President Maithiri thanks Lord Naseby and offers better Holiday package than he got from Mahinda?

President Maithripala Sirisena has expressed his deep appreciation to Lord Naseby for the efforts he has continued to take to cover up the killing of more than 40,000 Tamil civilians and more than 1000 LTTE Leaders and their family members who surrendered with White Flag after UN negotiated the surrender in May 2009 which is a War Crime.

Lord Naseby has said that only 8,000 Tamil Civilians were killed in May 2009 not 40,000 as claimed by UN. He refused to talk about the killing of more than 1000 LTTE Leaders and their family members who surrendered with white flag after UN negotiated the surrender. Even the Lord Naseby who is a close associate of Former President Mahinda knows that killing of members who surrendered with White Flag after UN negotiated it was War Crime.

Lord Naseby is accused of misleading the lords in the past and he has accused the British media of not helping the Sri Lankan government to cover up the War Crimes as they did to help UK and US in their War Crimes in middle east.

In a letter dated November 2, 2017 the President says;

“I have followed with keen interest the debate on Sri Lanka at the House of Lords held on 12th October 2017 which you had secured with much effort. It was noted that an overwhelming majority of speakers spoke well of the efforts taken by my Government towards promoting reconciliation, accountability and human rights and good governance. Your intervention, in particular, would assist Sri Lanka in its efforts towards truth-seeking and countering some of the propaganda levelled against the country.

I also wish to thank you for keeping me periodically briefed of your efforts, especially with regard to securing the despatches by Col. Anton Gash. These despatches would be an invaluable source material in assessing correctly the details of the final stages of the conflict.

Finally, let me take this opportunity to wish you the best in all your endeavours.
